Traditional Ceremony Music (with a twist)
Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 12:21PM Are you one of the brides who are searching through the endless number of songs available for a wedding ceremony but getting more frustrated by the minute because none of them scream "YOU"? Well, we've got ya covered! We just came across this wonderful group of musicians called The Vitamin String Quartet and immediately fell in love. They have several albums full of modern music that we all know and love but are transformed into classical symphonies by a string quartet. We absolutely love this idea because it is such a fun way to sneak some of your favorite songs into your ceremony while still keeping it classy and elegant. Your grandmother probably won't even notice that you're walking down the aisle to Guns and Roses' "Sweet Child of Mine" if it's being played beautifully by a melodic quartet. And they even have an entire album of Coldplay songs!
Songs to check out:
"Fireflies" (Owl City), "Love Story" (Taylor Swift), "All I Want is You" (U2), "You Shook Me All Night Long" (ACDC), "Viva La Vida" (Coldplay), "Hallelujah" (Rufus Wainwright), "I'm Yours" (Jason Mraz), "Yellow" (coldplay), and "Welcome to the Black Parade" (My Chemical Romance)
Yes, we know it sounds crazy. "Guns and Roses for a wedding?" you ask. But we promise you won't believe how great they sound! Here are a few samples below. Check them all out on iTunes.
